Inspired by the sensational Albrecht sword that was seen throughout the early years of the 15th century, this Hand-and-a-Half Sword is perfect for practice or reenactment. It offers your traditional hand-and-a-half grip and a flattened diamond-section blade for exceptional balance. A flat-round pommel and simple cruciform hilt finish the weapon off beautifully. Despite its impressive length at 43-1/4”, it only weighs 3-1/4lbs, so not only does it handle well, it won’t tire you out.

Our Practical broadswords, including SH2106, SH2046 and SH2047 have been thoughtfully designed to accommodate the intricate needs of stage combat and reenactment. They have been made to withstand rigorous abuse while complying with safety standards enforced by many reenactment societies. Crafted from 1065 high-carbon steel and hardened to 50HRC, these blades are able to offer good handling while resisting edge-notching to levels that are quite acceptable. They are resilient, protected against brittleness and balanced to perfection due to a fuller.

The edges of these practical swords are 1/16” wide and we have added rounded tips for enhanced safety. We have even taken the time to ensure that the tangs are substantial, showing no welds, and featuring radiused corners at the shoulders of the blade. The tang is even riveted over the pommel, so you can easily tighten a loose hilt while feeling secure that there is no risk of inadvertent disassembly.

Leather cloaks the hardwood grip to offer comfort and control. The craftsmanship of the scabbard is equally thoughtful. It has been fabricated in glass-filled resin, which eliminates swelling, minimizes blade corrosion and provides impact resistance. It is also very versatile as the added belt rings allow you to carry your weapon vertically or horizontally. We have given the scabbard a handsome wood-grain finish, but left it plain so you can decorate yours to reflect your persona if you choose.
