The Toledo gown is a replica of the clothing style of the late wife of Grand Duke Cosimo I of the Medici Family. She was buried in this dress that is adorned by 28 pearl buttons along the sleeves and other rich embellishments. The replicated dress is made from pure cotton velvet layered in satin and with neat colors. To show the silk blouse, the sleeves are reduced. It is common for the Victorian gowns to have adjustments for a shapely fit but this is different. It gives an illusion of slim waistline with its Bumroll while the Hoopskirts make it floor-length. The corset lifts the chest area.
