Roman legions all marched with essentially the same footwear. Roman sandals (Caligae, plural) provided durability for long marches. Our replica is superb, and are hand-made leather sandals with studded soles.

“This caligae is a durable and well made product. It is not quite as accurate as the actual archeological findings, such as the hob nails underneath the sole and the over all design. However, this caligae is by all means worth the purchase and suitable for Roman Legionaire reenactments and maybe Greek Hoplite reenactments, but I wouldn't wear these if you are seeking a Greek Hoplite theme due to being historically anachronistic and a mix matching of cultures thematically speaking. You might want purchase a size smaller than your shoe size. I wear a size 9 and purchased a size 8 and it fits perfectly.”
