This blank Roman Shield Scutum is constructed from poplar wood which is overlaid in linen. The shield is rimmed in brass and fitted with a central wooden grip. A brass shield boss with mounting hardware is included. The item ships without the boss fitted onto the shield. Assembly is required and mounting hardware is included.

Please Note: it is common for this item to have patination on the brass shield rim and shield boss - it can be cleaned to a bright sheen with polishing paste and scuff pads.

Simple, without confussions.
I have a little problem with the size of the helmet (morion). It is a bit tight and difficult to wear. Perhaps, there should have been more information on this issue.
Otherwise, the morion is excellent.
